Unit Description:
Sodexo Campus Services has an exciting career opportunity for a Food Service Retail Manager 2 at California State University – Monterey Bay campus in Seaside, CA. This Retail Food Manager will be directly responsible for 3 newly renovated retail venues including Otter Express Food Court (planned renovation for the summer of 2012), the Student Center and the Library Café. Food concepts include World Of Wings, Subversions, Simply to Go, Starbucks and concessions. This manager will supervise up to 30 employees.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
-Progressive 3 - 5 year management experience in a Chain Restaurant or College/University food retail management environment;
- Experience training and leading a retail food staff;
- POS knowledge and prior cash handling experience: Deposits/opening/closings;
- Exhibit exceptional people skills in order to be effective in communicating with clients, guests, students and employees at all levels.
- Flexibility to work in several areas of dining services as needed.
- Passion for creativity and innovation – to drive marketing / sales / customer satisfaction.
There is RELOCATION assistance provided for this position.
Position Summary:
Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. May assume GM's responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
