Backup / Recovery and Disaster Recovery - Sr. Engineer Role

The scope of the duties includes complex engineering assignments to determine backup recovery solutions for a very high volume system supporting Sodexo’s entire NorAm datacenter. The candidate is also responsible for 24x7 support of the backup/recovery system. The responsibilities include making sure that all designated enterprise data is properly backed up and stored off-site daily for disaster recovery protection. The candidate will be responsible for making sure that the backup / recovery system is able to be restored in the event of a disaster and that we are able to restore all designated data to resume important business application functionality. In addition, the candidate will also be responsible for taking a longer term view to make sure that our current technology, methods and practices are in-line with our growth trends, application and business needs. This includes participating in and or leading the design and implementation of new solutions.

Primary Day to Day Duties will include:

- Responsible for all of the administration and engineering duties for data backup / recovery and disaster recovery for the Sodexo Enterprise
- Support all of the storage needs of the Applications in the Sodexo Application Portfolio
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and regularly report performance metrics
- Handle all data management according to the requirements of the Sodexo Business and Legal/Regulatory agencies
- Ensure Compliance with Best Practices Defined Process/ Operating Procedures and Audit requirements

Secondary Duties will include:

- Administration of the Storage Area Network for Sodexo Enterprise SAN
- This position will also assist with implementing new storage and associated projects

Experience and knowledge in TSM, EMC CDL/VTL, STK, SAN, Administration is a must. Unix experience is a plus.


Basic Education Requirement Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field experiences

Position Summary:
Administers day-to-day operations of company's local area network (LAN). Provides integrated team support and maintenance of LAN hardware and software. Studies vendor products to determine those which best meet company needs and assists in presentation of information to management resulting in purchase and installation of hardware, software, and modem equipment. Performs LAN security procedures, including implementing login requests. Evaluates new products/technologies to determine impact on existing system configurations. Prepares proposals, cost/benefit analyses, and feasibility studies. Provides liaison support between the PC/LAN team, vendors, and PC desktop group as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree in computer science or related field

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
